Trivia Nights

Trivia Nights will be held every Third Thursday of the month at 5:30 pm.

Bring your own 3-8 person team OR be ready to join a team on arrival.

Participants must be at least 12 years old to join a team.

Meet Gerald & Piggie

September is Library Card Sign-up Month and we are celebrating with a special kick-off event!

Saturday, September 7th  ~ 10:00am – 12:00pm

Elephant and Piggie, Mo Willem’s dynamic duo, will be visiting Raymond Library for photo ops from 10:30am to 11:00am and again from 11:30am to 12:00pm.

There will be crafts, stories, and a scavenger hunt.

Registration is not required.

FREE Summer Crafts

Raymond Library will be hosting FREE drop-in Crafts Missions this summer. All materials will be provided. Suggested age is 3-19, but all ages are welcome.

Foil Printed Moon ~ Sat. July 6th ~ 10am-12pm

Straw Rockets ~ Sat. July 20th ~ 10am-12pm

Alien Masks ~ Sat. August 3rd ~ 10am-12pm

MARS: The Planet and NASA Missions

Solar System Ambassador, Chris Thompson will be visiting Raymond Library and talking about the planet Mars and the NASA missions to Mars on Wednesday, June 26th from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. 

This FREE program will be geared toward kids; however, all ages are welcome to come and learn about the Red Planet.


About Chris Thompson:

Chris is President of the Meteorite Association of Georgia and a member of the International Meteorite Collectors Association. He is an active collector, and enjoys sharing his material through hands-on activities with students of all ages. His work experience includes time at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. His interest in the space program began as a child watching the earliest US manned flights and has continued to grow through opportunities to experience space program launches from Florida and attend lectures by astronauts and space program participants at public venues including NASA Centers.

Becoming a Solar System Ambassador allows Chris to share his love of space with more people through the activities with partner institutions in the Atlanta area.

PINKTASTIC Celebration

Join Raymond Library on Saturday, March 2nd as we welcome the author of the Pinkalicious books: Victoria Kann.

Ms. Kann will be here from 10am-12pm to read from one of her books and show how she creates her amazing and pinktastic books.

Crafts, games, and refreshments will be available in celebration of this event and Dr. Seuss’s Birthday!

*Please note: if you have a Pinkalicious book you would like signed by Victoria Kann, please bring it with you. Copies will not be available at the event. 

Take Your Child to the Library Day!

Come to Raymond Library on Saturday, February 16th from 10am to 12pm in celebration of Take Your Child to the Library Day!

We will be joined by author, Jenna Grodzicki as she reads from her book (Finn Finds a Friend) and shares a “shark-tastic” craft.

Every child who attends will be able to choose a FREE book graciously donated by the Friends of the Raymond Library.

Create an Ornament

Create a one-of-a-kind ornament to hang on your tree. Raymond Library is hosting this FREE drop-in craft on Thursday, December 6th from 4pm-6pm. Create a unique ornament using puzzle pieces or wine corks.

Please note that glue guns will be used, so parental assistance will be required. 

All ages are welcome and registration is not required.

How the Grinch Stole the Library

The Grinch will descent from atop Mount Crumpit on Wednesday, December 12th and take over Raymond Library from 5:30pm-6:30pm.

Join us for a special storytime featuring How the Grinch Stole Christmas. After, get your picture taken with the Grinch and have fun making a Grinch-y craft.

Please call or stop by the Children’s desk to register. All ages are welcome.

Usborne Book Fair

Raymond Library is hosting its first ever Usborne Book Fair!

Tuesday, October 23rd: 12:00pm – 8:00pm
Wednesday, October 24th: 10:00am – 7:00pm
Thursday, October 25th: 10:00am – 6:00pm*

*On Thursday, October 25th, there will be a special “private shopping” experience from 6:00pm – 7:00pm for those attending the Halloween Party. 

Fifty percent of total sales will go toward new Usborne books for the library! Support your library and get some holiday shopping done at the same time!
